Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets Act (Bill 44) | General
The GHG Reductions Target Act was enacted by the BC Government in 2007 and outlines some of North America's most progressive policy measures for climate action. Targets include a 33% reduction below 2007 levels by 2020 and and 80% reduction by 2050. Additionally, Bill 44 outlines a mandate for a carbon-neutral public sector by 2010 which includes colleges, universities, schools and hospitals, in addition to the government's own operations.

University and College Presidents' Climate Change Statement of Action | General
Created in the spring of 2008, The Presidents' Climate Change Statement of Action is a voluntary declaration that commits post-secondary institutions to leadership in climate action. Notably, schools that sign it are committed to developing a plan through a "planning body that includes students, staff, faculty, researchers, administration and other partners" and outlines a timeline by when key objectives must be accomplished.
